ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -  Backstoppers has raised more than $100,000 since St. Louis County police officer Blake Snyder,
died. That's the most money the organization has raised in such a short time.
"I took it very hard because in my heart in my mind I wanted to be the last widow of the county," said Julie Weinhold Lueck.
Sixteen years ago, Lueck's husband, Officer Rick Weinhold, was shot and killed in the line of duty.

"It's almost an out of body experience. You know you're here and it happened but you're watching it from above it's kind of crazy."
She remembers the funeral like it was yesterday. Lueck was there with her four young children by her side, knowing the entire community was behind her.
"It meant so much. I don't think I even cried at the funeral because I was so proud at how the community embraced us and how they really took it to heart as well,"
The mother of four wasn't left raising a family on her own. Backstoppers was there to support her both emotionally and financially.
"I thank them every day for making me the best mom I'll ever be by allowing me to stay home with my kids in their important years when they were little."
To this day, Backstoppers still supports her family. When Officer Weinhold died, the organization paid off debt, covered their mortgage, even school for all four kids. Lueck said Backstoppers has been the biggest blessing in her life and she knows they'll do the same for Officer Snyder's family during this difficult time.
"By the community donating to them [Backstoppers], that has made me the person I am today being able to stay at home with my kids and do some of the dreams that Rick and I had with our family."

Backstoppers is one of two organizations that is taking donations for Officer Snyder's family. If you would like to donate to Backstoppers, visit: backstoppers.com/donate.
