Tool theft leads to child endangerment charge

The Franklin County Sheriff's office announced charges against three suspects in the theft of $8,000 in tools and a 15,000 generator. The victim said someone cut the lock to a gate and stole the items from a building in the area of Cedar Summit Lane and Robertsville Road.

During the course of a separate investigation, Union police discovered some of the stolen property at a home in Union. 30-year old Jarrett Mooney was arrested at the scene and later charged with 2nd degree burglary, receiving stolen property and tampering with a vehicle.

Investigators say a second suspect was arrested while allegedly shoplifting at the Walmart in Union. 25-year old Jordan Bassham is charged with 2nd degree burglary, receiving stolen property and tampering with a motor vehicle.

A third suspect was tracked down at an apartment in Union where he was living with his 5-month old son. Franklin County Sheriff's officials say he admitted to smoking methamphetamine near the child. 33-year old Eric Courtway is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
