ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has ordered all flags at state government buildings in St. Louis County to be flown at half-staff Thursday, October 13 in honor of Ofc. Blake Snyder.

“Law enforcement officers place themselves in harm’s way to protect others on a daily basis. Sadly, there are times when those officers make the ultimate sacrifice,” Gov. Nixon said. “The lowered flags will remind all of us of the courage and sacrifice of Officer Snyder, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and fellow officers.”

All American and Missouri flags will fly at half-staff at state buildings in the county from sunrise and sunset.
