ST.LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - The Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor, Pace Construction will close a section of north Interstate 44 outer road west of Route 141 beginning Monday. 

Crews will close the eastbound lanes of Meramec Street and North Outer Road between the ramps at southbound Route 141 and the ramps at northbound Route 141. Westbound traffic on the outer road will be moved to the eastbound lane, and the southbound Route 141 ramp will still be accessible as normal. 

Eastbound traffic heading north to Route 141 will need to detour, and use alternate routes: 

  • Take ramp to southbound Route 1414
  • Turn left onto south Highway Drive/ stay right to the ramp to eastbound I-44.
  • Follow South Highway Drive to the Maritz Overpass and turn left, Turn left onto North Highway Drive and follow the north Highway Drive to northbound Route 141. 

During the closure, Ameren crews will be constructing a foundation for a new utility tower as part of Route 141 Design Build project in Valley Park. The lane between the two ramps is expected to reopen before evening rush on Friday, October 14.
