ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV.com) -  It only took 43 seconds for someone to steal a woman's car in St. Charles. It happened Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the QuikTrip on Cave Springs near Mexico Road.

Surveillance video shows a suspect walking up to a victim's car, and driving away with it. The victim, Brandie Drzazga, says she went in the QuikTrip to get a charger and some candy. When she came out, less than a minute later, her car was gone.

"I just said please maybe I just forgot maybe I just parked over there," said Drzazga. Surveillance video shows that right after Drzazga went in the store, a guy in a red hoodie got out of a car parked at the pump. He walked right up to her car that was running, with the keys inside, and drove away.

Drzazga said, "I've been there multiple times this is something that I'm used to. This is something that isn't out of the ordinary and yes I did leave my keys in the car unfortunately but I guess I can't trust anybody anymore."

The single mother of two says this is about much more than her car, it's her safety.

"I feel violated, I'm scared. They have my ID, they know where I live they have keys to my house they have keys to my work," said Drzazga.

A similar situation happened at the QuikTrip on South 5th Street Sunday afternoon. Police say a woman was pumping gas when someone stole her car.

Police say they believe the two cases are connected and they don't have any suspects.
