(KMOV.com) – The St. Louis Community supported an army veteran who got ripped off.

Jay Reichman rides his bike nearly five miles to work every day from Richmond Heights to the Central West End.

But someone stole his bike while he was at work. When the word spread, the community came to the rescue.

The community set up a GoFundMe page. With a goal of $2,000, the page hit $2,500 very quickly. Others offered to give Reichman a bike. He says he wants to share the good community spirit.

Reichman wants to thanks everyone for their support. He says it shows just what kind of community we really have in St. Louis.
