ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Police have arrested a suspect after a man was shot inside a St. Louis area bar on Friday night.

The shooting happened inside Keypers Piano Bar in the 2200 block of Jefferson just before midnight.

A bar owner told News 4 the suspect came in for a drink and they noticed he was acting odd and talking over the piano player. Then, a customer realized the man had a gun. Soon after, the bar owner said the man pointed the gun at a patron. That is when the bartenders jumped in to stop him from shooting. In the midst of all that, the gun went off, according to police, and struck one person in the hip.

Police say a man in his 30s was hit in the hip and taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The bar owner tells News 4 they have surveillance video of the incident and gave it to police to help with the investigation.

Police arrived at the scene and were able to take the 59-year-old man into custody.

Keypers was back in business by Saturday night.
