SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

St. Louis Police have released surveillance photos of a duo wanted in connection to the shooting of a woman near the Science Center.

The subjects, a man and a woman, are both believed to be in their 20s. They are seen on surveillance video at a nearby gas station on Kingshighway shortly before the incident occurred.

The 44-year-old woman was shot while driving a car that had several kids inside at the intersection of Oakland and Kingshighway near the St. Louis Science Center around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.

After her driver's side window was shattered, the woman then felt pain and realized she was shot in the neck. She then drove into the parking lot of St. Louis University High for help. A soccer game and junior varsity football game were going at the school at the time.

Three children - ages 17, 11, and 8 - were inside the car at the time of the shooting. They were not injured.

The woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

If you recognize these suspects, you are asked to call St. Louis City Police.

The high school released the following statement regarding the incident Friday morning:

Last night, during our varsity football and JV soccer games, we were notified by the St. Louis City Police, who assist with security at our games, that a shooting had taken place on Kingshighway Blvd east of our school. Immediately, our collaboration with the police department and our own security staff assessed the safety of those in attendance at our games. The St. Louis City Police Department indicated to us that there was no immediate concern for anyone in attendance at our games or on our campus. With that information, our staff and administration quickly followed our practiced protocols for safety, and, in working with the St. Louis Police Department, provided additional security out of an abundance of precaution for the safety of those on our campus. At no time was there an immediate threat on our campus. We are grateful for our partnership with the St. Louis City Police Department. Our prayers are with the victim, whom police have indicated to us has non life threatening injuries.
