FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A suspect is in custody after he was allegedly seen burglarizing a Fairview Heights home over the weekend.

Around 5:10 p.m. Sunday, Scott Braswell, of Granite City, used a crowbar in an attempt to open the front door of a home in the 200 block of Lucinda Drive, according to police. After he could not open the door, the suspect allegedly broke a window to get inside.

When a neighbor called officers and reported seeing the suspect enter the home, a Swansea Police Department K-9 officer tracked the 43-year-old to a brush pile, where he was taken into custody.

Braswell has been charged with obstructing a peace officer and residential burglary. His bond was set at $75,000.
