FESTUS (KMOV.com) -

Tyler Aubuchon, 26, was arrested and charged with the armed robbery of the White Grill in downtown Festus Monday.

Aubuchon is charged with first-degree armed robbery, armed criminal action, assault and unlawful use of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Restaurant owner, Carol Labrayere said she was robbed at gunpoint as she opened the business at 4:15 a.m. to prepare for breakfast.

"When he did stick that gun in my nose like that, I did scream a little bit because I thought that's it you know, I thought I was going to get shot," said Aubuchon.

"He's been a one man crime wave in this area for the last couple of weeks," said Police Chief Tim Lewis for the Festus Police Department, who made it a top priority to get Aubuchon in custody.

Since mid-September, Aubuchon's been charged with numerous crimes including burglaries at Zion Church and Spinners Laundromat in Pevely, and a burglary at Rich's Frozen Custard in Festus where $1,200 was stolen. He was also charged with one count of drug possession in Arnold and three counts of drug possession in Festus.

Police said they were concerned that the robbery indicated an escalation in the crimes Aubuchon was suspected of committing.

"He's been in and out of jail for years but in a case like this he's been getting more and more violent and this is somebody we needed to get off the street," said Chief Lewis.

Aubuchon's being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.

Labrayere commented on Aubuchon's arrest by saying, "Good, that's where he needs to be."
