West County EMS mourning loss of firefighter found unresponsive Saturday

ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) – The West County EMS and Fire Protection District is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Sean McMullin was found unresponsive at Station 2, located at 13790 Manchester Road, around 12:50 p.m. Saturday.

After being found, paramedics attempted lifesaving efforts, but were unsuccessful, officials said.

“Together as a District, and brothers and sisters in the fire service, we extend our deepest sympathies to the McMullin Family,” read a portion of a post on the West County EMS and Fire Protection District’s Facebook page.

The 46-year-old’s cause of death has not been released.

A visitation for McMullin, who was with the fire protection district for 14 years, will be held Wednesday at the Stygar Mid Rivers Funeral Home in Cottleville from 3 to 8 p.m. Uniformed members who wish to stand at the casket vigil should contact Mark Hanick at 314-610-7221.

McMullin's funeral will be held Thursday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with burial following at the Saint Philippine Catholic Cemetery in St. Charles.
