Weekend event to provide support, answers to women battling ovarian cancer

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

More than 22,000 woman are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, according to St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness.

This weekend, the group is co-hosting and event with the Cancer Support Community to help women who are battling the disease to better understand the fight ahead.

On Saturday, patients and their caregivers are invited to “Steps to Ovarian Cancer Survivorship.” The event is from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Lodge Des Peres.

Oncologists and other professionals will be on hand to talk through treatment options, side-effects, and other quality of life issues.
