ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police in Arnold are asking for information after a 13-year-old boy required stitches after being hit in the head Sunday afternoon.

The teenager was at the Circle K gas station at 504 Jeffco Boulevard around 11:30 a.m., prior to the start of the Arnold Days Parade, when the incident occurred.

According to police, the boy and two other children were picking up trash and placing it in a bag. Then, the boy was playing with a squeegee at the gas station and dropped the bag of trash. After dropping the trash, the suspect allegedly confronted him, picked up the bag and hit the boy on the head with it.

When the boy went home, he told his mother about the incident. She took him to the hospital, where he received stitches.

The suspect was reportedly at the gas station to watch the parade and stayed throughout the whole procession.

Thursday, police said they had developed a "person of interest" and were conducting interviews.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Arnold Police Department.
