ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Suspicious packages were located on the parking lot near City Hall and prompted an investigation from St. Louis Metropolitan Police and the bomb and arson squad.

Around 10:00 a.m., several St. Louis Metropolitan Police vehicles convened on the scene near the intersection of 14th Street and Clark Avenue. The packages were on the parking lot next to City Hall, across the street from the Scottrade Center.

In total, there were four packages described as duffel bags. Three of the four bags contained clothing and the fourth contained small electronics. The bag containing the small electronics was destroyed by robot as a precaution. The owner of the bags or who left the bags in the lot has yet to be known.

During the incident, the west half of City Hall was moved to the opposite side of the building as a safety measure, however, the building was never evacuated.

The scene was cleared after it was determined there was no threat.
