ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A man is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in the Central West End on September 10.

Jared Hurst, 26, of the 8700 block of College, is charged with rape, kidnapping, sodomy, burglary, and theft of under $500.

Authorities believe he entered a second floor bedroom of an apartment on Boyle around 1:45 a.m. while a 26-year-old woman was asleep. He allegedly implied he had a weapon but did not show it. He then allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and fled.

Police said DNA collected at the scene linked police to Hurst. Hurst, who worked near the girl's apartment, was taken into custody at his place of work.

Hurst is being held in jail without bond.
