ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Schnucks grocery stores across St. Louis City and County are experiencing delivery problems and even leaving shelves bare at some stores.

Lori Brickey, a Schnucks shopper said, “Immediately I just thought this is kind of weird and I won’t come to this store anymore because they’re not keeping up with the product.”

Some locations had signs warning customers about the shortage, but others did not. Shortage of items varies from store to store.

Union workers were protesting outside the Schnucks at Butler Hill Centre. They say the shortage is due to Schnuck’s decision to switch to a new warehouse operated by non-union workers.

Schnucks says the problem with the produce over the fourth weekend of July was threefold: high customer traffic, a power outage at their IT building and the transition to the new warehouse.
