DELLWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A smash-and-grab was reported at the Sweetie Pie’s in Dellwood overnight.

The front window of the business, which was made famous by a reality television series on Oprah Winfrey’s network, was smashed around 11:50 p.m. Sunday.

Police said it appeared money was missing from inside the restaurant, located in the 9800 block of West Florissant.

A surveillance video showed the suspect with a hoodie on throwing the cash register onto the ground repeatedly.

"It's 102 degrees outside. Nobody wears a hood except for a thief and that was exactly what was happening," said Sweetie Pie's manager Janice O'Bannon.

The St. Louis County Police Department's Bureau of Crimes Against Property is investigating the incident.
