ST. CHARLES COUNTY (KMOV.com) -

Commuters traveling to and from the St. Charles County area could experience some congestion on the roadways this weekend.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) announced several lane closures on Interstate Highways 64 and 70, as well as Route 364.

MoDOT crews will close three lanes on eastbound I-70 near Route 94 Friday night, beginning at 10:00 p.m. The closures will allow crews to set up girders on the Fairgrounds Road Bridge.

MoDOT said the closures will also include intermittent full closures to allow crews to move girders, which take up to 15 minutes to move.

All lanes of eastbound I-70 are expected to re-open by 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

Then, at 10:00 p.m. the same night, MoDOT will close up to three lanes of westbound I-70 at Fifth Street. Like the eastbound construction, crews will have closures of all lanes to move the girders across the interstate. This means MoDOT will also close two lanes on the eastbound side of I-70.

All of those lanes will reopen by 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

MoDOT announced it will also close westbound lanes of I-64 from Ballas to Route 340. Those lanes will close Friday at 8:00 p.m. and reopen by Saturday at 6:00 a.m.

For drivers taking Route 364 this weekend, they should be aware that three westbound lanes will close at Jung Station at 7:00 p.m. Friday and reopen Saturday morning by 10:00 a.m. Then, MoDOT crews will close three eastbound lanes at the same location at 9:00 a.m. Saturday. MoDOT expects those lanes to remain closed until 5:00 a.m. Monday.
