ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A chase ended in a fatal crash in north St. Louis Thursday afternoon.

Officers with the St. Louis County Police Department said they were pursuing a wanted vehicle out of their Jennings district.  Shortly after the pursuit began, the chase ended in a crash at Riverview and Edna in the City of St. Louis.

Authorities say they recently found an online video on Monday of four men displaying guns, officers became concerned and sent out a warning to other officers.

Around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, officers were outside the house of the four men, on Ventura in north St. Louis County. Two of them then got into a car and a chase then began.

The two suspects were heading northbound in the southbound lanes of Riverview and then collided with a second vehicle head-on. The suspect vehicle struck a second car parked on the street. The second struck car was unoccupied at the time of collision.

The St. Louis Fire Department said multiple vehicles were involved in the accident and several cars were on fire.

"The car exploded around four times. They put the fire out and it exploded, they put it out and it exploded again," one witness said.

The two suspects in the Impala were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Police identified the driver of the car as Darnell Brown, 25, of the 6200 block of Westerhoff. The passenger of the vehicle was identified as 23-year-old Christopher mills of the 10100 block of Mayfair.

Police say they found a gun in the vehicle.

The person who was inside the first vehicle that was struck, remains in critical and stable condition.

The investigation is still ongoing.
