Lightning strike causes oil tank fire in Marissa

MARISSA, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Firefighters in Marissa responded after oil tanks were struck by lightning Wednesday.

An oil tank was struck by lightning and caught fire on Randolph County Line Road around 10:30 a.m., according to the St. Clair County Emergency Management Agency.

The St. Clair County hazmat team was on the scene as well as eight different fire departments.

No one was injured and no homes were damaged in the fire which was on private property.
