Police locate boy with autism who was last seen wearing PJ's in Marissa

MARISSA, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A boy who has autism and is non-verbal was found after being reported missing Wednesday morning.

The village posted a photo of the missing child, Joseph, to its Facebook page. The 5-year-old was last seen on South Euclid Street around 4 a.m. He was wearing camouflage pajamas that were backwards.

Police told News 4 they used K-9 Units to aide in their search for the boy.

St. Clair County EMA tweeted around 10:15 a.m. that the boy had been located. 

According to St. Clair County, a citizen who knew the family found Joseph safe at a park. He was checked out by paramedics and had no injuries.
