ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A proposed truck to store firearms of people who attend Cardinals games will not happen, at least for now.

Justin Hulsey, who came up with the idea of allowing fans to store their guns inside a secure truck while they are inside Busch Stadium, said the storage truck will not open because of permit issues.

The plan called for the truck to be parked on property belonging to Paddy O’s restaurant, but the City of St. Louis said the truck is not allowed because of the restaurant’s occupancy permit. His business also did not have the proper license and permits.

Hulsey came up with the idea for the truck after military veteran Chris Sanna was shot and paralyzed while walking back to his car from Busch Stadium in September, 2015.

Hulsey told News 4 he is not giving up and is going to look at other options to get the truck up and running. It was scheduled to open July 15.
