ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- The officer wounded in a shooting in Ballwin, Missouri on Friday will "require long-term medical care."

A post on the Ballwin Police Department's Facebook page said Officer Mike Flamion remains in critical, but stable condition. The department said in the post "it is coming to light that his life, and that of his family will forever be changed by his injuries."

The GoFundMe site for the family has raised $166,000. The goal is to raise $250,000.

The message concluded by stating "on behalf of the family, we want to express our deepest appreciation for the incredible support you have shown over the past few days." The family is said to be "deeply touched" by the signs of support around the city.
