FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The City of Ferguson and the Department of Justice have narrowed the candidates for an independent monitor down to four finalists.

The finalists, identified as Ebevy YG, Lemire LLC, Squire Patton Boggs and Police Performance Consultants, will each have a one-on-one interview with the department and Ferguson leaders Tuesday.

Whoever is chosen as the independent monitor will work with the city and the Department of Justice to ensure the requirements of their agreement are reached. They will also look at whether or not the requirements are making a positive change in the community.

Tuesday night at 6 p.m., the community is welcome to attend a public forum at the Ferguson Community Center. At the forum, community members can ask questions to the candidates.

Members of the community can email their feedback on their candidates to Ferguson City Manager De’Carlon Seewood at dseewood@fergusoncity.com, Amy Senier, with the Department of Justice, at amy.senier@usdoj.gov and Attorney Jared Hasten at JHasten@winston.com.

City leaders and the Department of Justice will meet Friday to make a decision on who will be the monitor. They will have until next Tuesday to submit their final decision to the court.
