UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A teenager was shot at the MetroLink station in the Delmar Loop during a fight Monday night, according to police.

Shortly after the shooting, police told News 4 a fight broke out around 9:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Rosedale. During the scuffle, shots were fired and the 18-year-old was struck in the stomach.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the victim lying on a bench on the street level at the MetroLink station. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

In March, 22 additional police officers were assigned to patrol MetroLink stations throughout the city. In response to this incident, MetroLink officials told News 4 the incident technology did not happen on their property so they are not involved in the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
