FARMINGTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – One of the hardest hit cities surrounding the St. Louis area from strong storms on July 6 was in Farmington.

The damage is widespread across Farmington. Across the city trees were broken off and power poles were snapped.

Strong winds sheared off large limbs from a tree and were dropped on the back of a trailer home. No one is living inside the trailer, but the person who is about to move in was at the scene and says the limbs also fell on her car.

Neighbors say the main problem from the storm was the strong winds.

Dan Duncan, Emergency Management Director for the City of Farmington says some roads were closed for up to an hour until crews or residents could clear the downed trees and large limbs.

Due to the damage to the power poles there are large pockets of neighborhoods are without electricity. Some of the damage could take hours or days to repair.

Despite the damage, authorities have not reported any injuries.
