7 injured in overnight shootings across St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Seven people were injured during five separate shootings overnight.

Around 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, authorities responded after a 22-year-old man was shot in the chest in the 4200 block of Michigan in South City. He was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.

The suspect was known to the victim and placed as ‘wanted’ following the shooting, police said.

Just over an hour later, a 49-year-old was taken to the hospital in critical, stable condition after being shot in the 8600 block of Goodfellow in North City. Following the shooting, a second victim, a 44-year-old woman, arrived to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Both victims were listed in stable condition.

An investigation revealed the victims were sitting on the front porch of a home with four other people when a white vehicle drove by and its occupants fired several gunshots. A home in the area sustained ballistic damage during the shooting.

Two hours after the first shooting, a 34-year-old man and 26-year-old woman were hospitalized after being shot in the 4800 block of Hammett Place, which is located in the Kingshighway East neighborhood of north St. Louis. The two were outside when four men fired shots at them and fled the scene in a while Ford F-150.

Both victims were taken to the hospital and listed in critical, stable condition. Numerous vehicles in the area were damaged by the gunfire, police said.

Around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, a 25-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical, stable condition after being shot in the stomach and leg in 1400 block of East Grand. 

Less than 10 minutes later, a 34-year-old man was shot while in the 4000 block of Cottage. He was in critical, stable condition while being taken to the hospital.
