Jack Taylor, the founder of Enterprise Holdings and the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Company has passed away, the company announced.

Taylor, 94, was a World War II veteran and served in the Navy from 1942 through 1945.

It was more than a decade after the war that Taylor started the Executive Leasing Company; a company that leased vehicles to neighborhood clients. That business would eventually lead Taylor to create vehicle-renting company, Enterprise.

Taylor was not only an entrepreneur in St. Louis, but a man of charity. He gave to several St. Louis institutions which included, but not limited to, the St. Louis Public Schools Foundation, the Botanical Garden, and the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.
