ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

With July 4 falling on a Monday, the Fourth of July weekend will be packed with lots of activities through the three-day weekend.

But with downtown activities, comes traffic and congestion thanks to street closings.

Here's what you should know if you plan on heading downtown for the holiday weekend.

The festivities kick off with the Veiled Prophet Parade, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Kiener Plaza. The parade will then head west on Market Street and will end at 20th, just across the street from Union Station.

This section of Market will close at 2:00 a.m. Then, four hours later at 6:00 a.m., every cross street of Market, Chestnut, and Clark, just north and south of Market will also close.

For more information on street closings and the VP Parade, you can check out their website.

Fair St. Louis will be conducted in Forest Park, which means Interstate Highway 40 will be very congested. It is also possible streets like Lindell, Kingshighway, Hampton, Skinker, and Forest Park Parkway will also be busy due to the fair.

There will be multiple parking spots in Forest Park that will cost $20.
