ST. LOUIS, Mo. ( -

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1.2 million people are living with HIV in the United States. However, 1-in-8 people do not know they have the disease.

Back in February, it was discovered that St. Louis lead the state of Missouri for rate of which doctors diagnose patients with HIV.  But doctors want people to ignore the stigma of HIV and check their status by getting tested on National HIV Testing Day. The CDC recommends that anyone between the ages of 13-65 get tested as a routine health procedure.

Those in St. Louis who want to be tested for HIV can do so at the following locations:

Walgreens, south St. Louis
3631 Gravois Ave.,
St. Louis, MO 63116
NWC of Grand & Gravois

Walgreens, just south of downtown
1530 Lafayette Ave., St. Louis, MO 63104

Family Care Health Center
4352 Manchester Ave
Saint Louis, MO, 63110
