CREVE COEUR, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Former President George W. Bush will be in Creve Coeur Monday to campaign for U.S. Senator Roy Blunt.

The former president will be at a fundraiser for Blunt, who has been in politics for more than 40 years, at Hunter Farms starting at 5 p.m.

The stop at the fundraiser is one of several Bush is making to support senate republicans who are facing tough re-elections. Bush’s spokesperson said he believes the stops are critical to keep the senate in Republican hands.

Senator Blunt had a 2-1 fundraising advantage over his expected democratic challenger, Jason Kander, who has outraised him during the most recent quarter.

Kander is currently the Missouri Secretary of State and a former army intelligence officer.

According to the Washington Post, public polls have shown Blunt leading Kander in a head-to-head matchup.
