Authorities are looking for a person of interest described as “armed and dangerous” in connection to a robbery at a gold store in O’Fallon, Illinois on June 14.

Police are looking for Wadell R. Savage Jr, 21, from East St. Louis.

Around 2:30 p.m. on June 14, two armed men walked into Dollars 4 Gold on Highway 50 in O’Fallon, jumped the county and demanded four people hand over their cash and valuables, police say.

Several businesses nearby were placed on lockdown. The owner of Dollar 4 Gold said the store planned to reopen Wednesday.

A witness followed one of the suspects on foot into the Homestead and Brookside neighborhood. Police believe that suspect unsuccessfully tried to enter a car that had someone else inside. That suspect was arrested and later identified as 29-year-old Trent L. Yates, of East St. Louis.

On June 16, Yates was charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm and one count of attempted armed robbery. His bond was set at $300,000.

A second suspect is still on the run.
