ST. PETERS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The St. Peters Board of Aldermen voted 6-1 Thursday night to prevent a proposed race track from being built.

Developers asked St. Peters officials to approve a project for a race track that would have featured go karts, motorcycle and drone racing. The project was known as the 370 Speedway.

Many residents who live near the proposed site said they were concerned about noise. Two sound engineering experts testified, and each came to different conclusions about how much noise would be generated by the race track.

The developer said he is looking at sites in Maryland Heights and Bridgeton as possible locations for the track.
