SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

There’s new information in the case of a sex offender arrested at a south St. Louis park.

Robert Barteau was among about 30 people charged in municipal court with lewd and indecent conduct in a crackdown at Willmore Park in south St. Louis in 2016. He, like the others, was given court monitored probation for that case.

Barteau was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual assault in the 1990's. His victim in that case was just 6-years-old. He went to prison but got out and since then, he doesn't seem to want to stay away from places with children.

In 2011, he violated his terms as a sex offender for showing up at school in Madison County, Illinois.

Then in May, 2016, he was charged again for showing up at a park in St. Louis County. That case is still pending.

The St. Louis City Court will seek to revoke his probation for the charge of lewd and indecent conduct at Willmore Park.

On the felonies, he could face up to eight years in prison. He's is currently in custody in St. Louis County.
