FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) -
Three men were killed in a car crash in north St. Louis County on June 17 after their vehicle was struck by a pickup truck.
The accident happened at the intersection of Shackelford Road and Kingsford Drive just outside Florissant city limits just before midnight. A pickup truck tried to make a left turn onto Kingsford Dr. when it struck the passing car.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene while the other two victims in the car were rushed to the hospital. However, both succumbed to their injuries.
John Lattier, resident near the accident said, "One of my neighbors told me that they were doing like 100 miles per hour with the lights off and clipped the pickup."
St. Louis County Police identified the victims as Cameron Brown of Florissant, Braxton Johnson-Price of Florissant and William Nicks of St. Louis County. All three victims were 20-years-old. A memorial is at the site where the young men lost their lives.
Authorities said the driver of the pickup truck cooperated with investigators.
The crash caused about 900 residents in the area to lose power with debris littering the ground. Power was not fully restored until 10 a.m. on June 18.
Investigators say they are looking into whether or not both drivers were under the influence.
