ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A young girl was honored at St. Louis City Hall for saving 6-year-old girl from drowning.

Neasha Thurman was at Marquette Pool in south St. Louis on June 7 when she spotted a girl, 6, underwater and unconscious. Thurman pulled the girl out of the water and screamed for help.

Thurman was honored by St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay and Aldermanic President Lewis Reed.  The firefighters who performed CPR on the 6-year-old girl were also honored.
