BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Storms have left around 3300 people without power in the Metro East.

The biggest impact is due to downed power lines on Illinois State Highway 161. Around 1700 customers are affected.

The downed lines have closed a stretch of an Illinois State Highway in St. Clair County. State Route 161 is closed Carson Road to Dutch Hollow Road near Belleville.

News 4 viewer Matt Murphy was in downtown Belleville when he looked south towards Red Bud and spotted a landspout.

In Missouri, around 1,000 people have no power. Those affected are mostly in north St. Louis County.
