ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A viral video of rapper 50 Cent mocking an autistic man is causing boycotts around the country and in St. Louis.

Randall’s Liquor and Spirits in South City was set to host an event with the rapper on May 5 but have decided to cancel.

“Given the recent events we’ve decided not to go forward with the event,” said Jace Bennett at Randall’s.

The video posted by the rapper to his Instagram shows him berating a janitor in the Cincinnati airport, saying the 19-year-old was high on drugs.

The airport worker was identified as Andrew Farrell by his family, who says the young man is autistic and suffers from social anxiety.

"It hurts to watch that, it's painful," said Ken, Andrew's stepfather. "You come up and you start talking to a kid you know nothing about. That's not fair. That's a slap in the face."

The video has prompted boycott’s of 50 Cent’s Effen Vodka. The rapper was doing a promotion with Randall’s on May 5 offering to sign bottles for fans.

Nearly 300 people had RSVP’d for the event. Randall’s says there will be a full refund for customers and they will do their best to make it up to them.

The rapper was also scheduled to appear at Total Wine in Brentwood and The Lux on Thursday but both venues have canceled his appearance.

50 Cent has issued an apology, saying: "While the incident at the airport resulted from an unfortunate misunderstanding, I am truly sorry for offending the young man... It was certainly not my intent to insult him or the disability community, which is a source of great strength in America. I have apologized personally to him and his family."
