Creve Coeur bridge closure to begin Monday, last throughout the summer
CREVE COEUR, Mo. (KMOV.com) -
Drivers in the Creve Coeur area might have to adjust their commutes for the summer.
The St. Louis County Departments of Transportation and Public Works has announced the bridge over Conway Road will close Monday, May 2 immediately east of Maryville University’s Athletic Field Drive to just west of St. Luke Hospital’s entrance off Conway. It will stay closed until Aug. 8.
Construction crews will start a project that will remove and replace the 60-year old bridge.
The project calls for the new bridge to have two, 12-foot wide lanes; one that runs east and one that runs west. The bridge will also have four-foot wide shoulders and protected sidewalks.
L. Krupp Construction will be executing the project. The total cost of the bridge replacement is $890,000.
Vehicles will not be able to drive through the work zone while the project is underway. For an alternate route, drivers can use Mason Road, Ladue Road, and Route 141 to go around the construction.
