ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A former employee of JC’s Home Healthcare Services told News 4 she owes thousands of dollars to check cashing businesses, after several paychecks bounced.

Alicia Rodriquez said she was forced out of her home in December, due to late rent as a result of late paychecks.

Thursday afternoon, employees were still camped outside JC’s Home Healthcare Services, refusing to leave until they were paid. Many waited outside the office on previous days to collect paychecks.

Several employees previously told News 4 they’d consistently received late paychecks over the course of a year.

Rodriquez said she quit her job with the business in March.

She thinks she owes at least $3,000 to various check cashing businesses.

“They're coming after me for the insufficient funds. If they can't get her, who’s the next person? I cashed them there.”

News 4 has made repeated efforts to contact the owner, Janice Ward, but her employees say she's nowhere to be found.

Rodriquez doesn't expect to ever get paid, or the creditors to stop calling.

“They can't tell us when we're getting a check. Or if we're getting one."
