ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Employees of a local healthcare business who say they haven’t been paid recently were locked out of their office by their employer Wednesday.

Employees of JC’s Home Health Care Services, Inc. waited for hours on April 26 for paychecks that they never received. The next day they came to their office only to discover they had been locked out by their boss, Janice Ward.

In the past, employees said paychecks they have received have not cashed.

JC's Home Health Care Services, Inc. is a Medicaid funded provider that offers adults daycare and in-home services.

A man inside the office who identified himself as a friend of Ward’s did not have any answers for employees who came by to pick up their paycheck.

News 4 attempted to call Ward and even stopped by a home she listed on paperwork. Ward did not answer to either calls or to knocks on the door. Neighbors said she does not live at that address.

Court records show Ward has been previously ordered to pay past due bills.

Richard Jackson, a friend of Ward said problems with the bank are to blame for lack of paychecks.

“The last time it had something to do with the bank and the money going to the wrong account,” said Jackson.
