ST. CHARLES COUNTY (KMOV.com) – St. Charles County residents are cleaning up from the storm that passed through the area on April 26.

An EF-0 tornado touched down in New Melle and left the area with a huge mess.

Residents say cleaning up will be a long road. Huge chunks of debris uprooted trees, which is making the cleanup process challenging.

Across New Melle, there are trees down, barns with roofs ripped off and siding snatched off of homes.

First responders say property near Cappeln Osage Road was probably the worst area hit.

Gary Potter lives in New Melle, Mo. and says it will take him all summer to clean up around his home.

If you are in the New Melle area, do not be surprised if you see snow plows out. The snow plows are being used to push debris out of the road.
