O'FALLON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

O’Fallon, Mo. police are looking to find guns that were stolen from parked cars in early April.

The guns were taken from three different neighborhoods, police say.  In two of the three cases, the cars were unlocked. The third car had a partially opened window.

O’Fallon police do not believe a thief is targeting gun owners, but simply looking for an easy opportunity to steal. Once the guns are gone, police say it is difficult to track them.

St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson said guns stolen from cars in the area end up being used in crimes in St. Louis City.
