MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Maplewood City Council is set to hear from the public about a new restaurant set to open that features scantily clad waitresses.

Twin Peaks plans to open in the vacant Olive Garden location in the Maplewood Commons.

Tuesday night, the council will decide on Twin Peaks’ liquor license. The restaurant features waitresses wearing lumberjack uniforms and has drawn comparisons to Hooters or the more controversial Social House 2 that recently opened in the Delmar Loop.

Some residents have voiced concerns regarding the attired of the waitresses but City Manager Marty Corcoran says this is not like Social House 2 because all of the employees are fully clothed.

“Twin Peaks meets all the zoning qualifications for a restaurant,” said Corcoran.

The city has the discretion to approve or not approve a liquor license but there is no basis to deny this restaurant. But residents are welcome to voice their opinions at Tuesday’s council meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Twin Peaks plans to open the location sometime during the summer. They also plan to open locations in Fairview Heights and Chesterfield.
