Bevo Mill goes up for sale

SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

The Bevo Mill, a south St. Louis landmark that was once a pub and restaurant is up for sale.

The Bevo Mill is currently owned by St. Louis City, which bought the building in 2008 from AB-InBev. It has been closed for several years and the surrounding area has seen a decline in activity. When it was functioning pub and restaurant, it would bring in busloads of tourists.

“If it’s reopened and employs people, that’s good. It attracts people and things. It’s nice  like flowers blooming in the spring,” said nearby resident Paul Holt.

The Bevo Mill was built by August Busch Sr. in 1916 and served as a midway point between the Anheuser Busch Brewery and Grant’s Farm.
