WARRENTON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A 22-year-old St. Louis man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in a fatal stabbing at a New Year’s Day party.

David Johnson, of St. Louis was convicted in February of five felonies including second-degree murder. Johnson and two others showed up to a New Year’s Party at a Wright City home in 2009 and stabbed Fernando Melgar and Raymond Post.

Melgar died, Post survived. The other two suspects are already in prison.

Johnson was 15 at the time of the stabbing was tried and convicted as an adult.

Prosecutors said Johnson must serve 85 percent of his sentence.
