ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Military veteran Chris Sanna made an emotional return to Busch Stadium six months after he was shot and paralyzed outside the ballpark.

Tuesday, Sanna and his family watched the Redbirds take on the Cubs from a luxury box that was auctioned off by the Cardinals to raise money for Sanna’s medical bills.

Sanna was shot and paralyzed during a robbery in late September as he and his girlfriend were walking from Busch Stadium to their car near the Old Cathedral. Kilwa Jones, 31, is facing charges in connection to the shooting.

The donor who bought and donated the suite to Sanna family stopped by the luxury box.

“Just the fact that he (the donor) made it here, that he drove his truck down here is exciting,” said Candis Sanna, Chris’ mother.

The Sanna family told News 4 returning to the ballpark is a way to put the shooting behind them.
