KMOV is a proud partner of the 2017 American Cancer Society Celebration of Hope Relay for Life and I have the honor of leading the KMOV Cares team.

Please join us for this year's Celebration of Hope Relay for Life on August 26 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. We will be in the Grand Basin at Forest Park. Enjoy great food from Sugarfire Smoke House, music by Paint The Earth, the Luminaria Glow at sundown and fireworks to cap off the evening! We will honor survivors and caregivers and there will be fun stuff for the kiddos.

Help us light up the Grand Basin at sundown! Light a candle in honor of or in memory of a friend or loved one who has had cancer, or in support of a Caregiver. Dedicate a Luminaria by clicking here!

Why is Relay For Life so important to me?

My amazing Dad lost his 12-year battle with metastatic prostate cancer in March 2014. Cancer took him from me, my mom, my brother and his two grandsons a few months before his 69th birthday. I participate because I want to honor his memory and incredible bravery. I've shared too many tears with too many friends and family members who have faced a similar agonizing loss.

At Christmas we learned my Uncle faces a similar fight - prostate cancer that has quickly spread into his bones. He's hanging in there and fighting hard with the support and love of family and friends. I participate for him, his wife, his daughters and his four beautiful grandchildren. I participate for my mom who, less than three years after losing her husband to the very same cancer, has to be a caregiver for her only brother.

I participate for my friends and family members who have finished radiation, chemo and countless poking and prodding sessions - the incredible survivors. I CELEBRATE you!

I participate for the caregivers who stand strong with the fighters.

I participate for anyone who has had to hear that scary diagnosis and gear up for the fight of their lives.

Why I’m Fundraising

Celebration of Hope Relay For Life gives us the power to fight back. This is our opportunity to honor the cancer survivors in our lives, remember friends and family we have lost, and help raise funds to support the American Cancer Society’s life-saving mission.

Every single one of us knows and loves someone who has had to stare down cancer. By raising funds for our Celebration of Hope Relay For Life, we will help save lives from ALL cancers.

Be a part of our community and inspire hope by raising funds and cancer awareness to help those facing the disease. I hope you will consider joining our team or making a donation in support of our efforts.

Together, we can finish the fight!

Why I Support the American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life events are the world’s largest and most impactful fundraising events to help fight every cancer in every community. Relay for Life events raise critical funds that help fuel the mission of the American Cancer Society, and unite communities across the globe to celebrate the people battling cancer, remember the loved ones we have lost, and to take action to end cancer once and for all.

Every day, the American Cancer Society helps people take steps to reduce their risk of cancer or find it early, when it is easiest to treat. They provide free information and services to cancer patients throughout their journey. The organization is investing in crucial research to prevent, treat, and ultimately, cure all cancers.

Join us August 26th at the Grand Basin in Forest Park. Join me on the KMOV Cares team or start your own today by clicking here to help us finish the fight.
