ST. LOUIS, Mo. ( -

School ends for most St. Louis area students at the end of May, and in its place comes summer vacation. For many families, they will be planning vacations across the world and will need a passport.

The St. Louis Post Office is encouraging customers to apply for a passport now. Three St. Louis Post Office locations are offering extended Saturday hours to provide passport information to U.S. citizens and to accept passport applications.

The dates, times and places are:

  • April 16: Clayton Post Office, 7750 Maryland Avenue, St. Louis, Mo. 63105; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • April 23: Creve Coeur Post Office, 331 N. New Ballas Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63141; 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • April 30: Main Post Office, 1720 Market St. Lobby, St. Louis, Mo. 63155; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

U.S. citizens traveling abroad are required to present a valid passport book when entering or re-entering the United States by air. U.S. citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry must present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government.

Information on the cost and how to apply for a U.S. passport is available by clicking here. U.S. citizens may also obtain passport information by phone, in English and Spanish, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1-877-487-2778.
