CAHOKIA, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A massive fight broke out as teenagers were at a birthday party in the Metro East on April 2.

Police say hundreds of teens were involved and a massive police response followed in Cahokia, Illinois.

Luckily no one was seriously hurt.

Video was found on Facebook that captured the chaos. The incident forced more than eight different police agencies to respond.

Police say nearly 200 teenagers were at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, VFW, Post 1699 on April 2 for a 17-year-old’s birthday party. According to police, an adult rented the place.

Police also say they are looking for those involved in the fight.

Cahokia resident Richard Barnes said, “I would say it's the parents' responsibility, they rented the hall and allowed more teenagers to be there than should be there. They should've had a lot more supervision.”

One of the officers that was at the VFW said there were three chaperones with the party and two more VFW workers. But that was not enough supervision, since a brawl broke out.

“It could've started out as horse play and ended up into something else,” said Barnes.

The VFW posted a comment about the incident on their Facebook page stating, “These were young stupid kids that do not know how to respect anything in their lives, let alone what the VFW stands for.”

The post also mentions that VFW officers will not stand for that kind of behavior. Officers said there will be immediate amendment to the hall rental contracts to prevent anything like a brawl from happening again.
